Before you Start:
This guide is written with the assumption that you have already created a Promotion, and are now ready to send a Reach Broadcast that will include that Promotion. If you have not read our How-To Guide covering Promotion setup, please do so before consulting this guide.
* If you do not have access to create a promotion, please reach out to our Mobivity Support team so they may assist.
Sending a Reach Broadcast:
- Click on the Send Message option in the left-hand navigation bar.
- Select the Campaigns that you would like to send your Broadcast to, and then click on the “Message” Button. A prompt will appear asking you to choose your Broadcast type, select “Reach Broadcast” and click confirm.
- On the Message page, the first option you will see is the Coupon field. Click in the Coupon field to attach an existing Promotion to your Reach Broadcast. The field will display a dropdown of available Promotions, and typing in the field will allow you to search for a Promotion by name (ID). Select a Promotion to move forward.
- Next, in the Compose Message box, write the message that will go out with your Reach Promotion. This is the text message the customer will see before clicking the link to view their Promotion. The character limit is 104 characters including spaces to accommodate the length of the automatically-inserted promotion URL.
- The live preview on the page that is designed to allow you to preview the message delivered to each contact who is part of the selected campaign(s). The preview does not include the Reach URL, which is inserted between the message and the Auto-Appended Legal. Once you’re happy with your message, click on the “Schedule” Button.
- The Schedule Page allows you to choose between scheduling your Broadcast to go out later and sending your Broadcast immediately. If you select “Send Now” the Broadcast will go out 5 minutes after you click “Finish”. You may also schedule the Broadcast for a future Date and Time, up to a year in advance.
- Optional: From the Schedule Page you may also choose to schedule a Reminder Broadcast. A Reminder Broadcast is an additional message that will go out to any Subscribers who have not redeemed their promotion by the Reminder Message Broadcast is scheduled. Much like the initial Broadcast, a Reminder Message requires you to enter a Broadcast message (ex. “Don’t forget you have a great offer waiting!”) and choose a date and time to schedule that message. Reminders must be scheduled at least 24 hours after the first broadcast.
- Next, click on the “Options” Button.
- On the Options page you can choose to limit your Broadcast to certain subscribers within the campaigns you selected. There are two filtering options currently: Time Zone and Carrier. Applying a filter will send the Broadcast only to phone numbers that meet the criteria you select. Time Zone is determined based on the area code.
- Once you are satisfied with any optional filters that are being applied to your Broadcast, click on the “Review” Button.
- The Review page goes over all of the information that was entered during the Broadcast Flow.
- From the Review page you have the option to send a Test Message. The Test Message allows you to send yourself or others a preview copy of the broadcast right away, even if it is scheduled for a future date. In order to send a Test Message, click on the “Send Test Message” Button. (Note: If you do wish to send yourself a test message, you may skip the next several steps and click “Finish“).
- Once you have clicked on the “Send Test Message” Button, you will be presented with a pop-up asking you to enter a phone number. Enter a phone number and click “Add” to create a list of phone numbers that will receive a test copy of the broadcast You may add multiple phone numbers to the Test Message list. (Note: all phone numbers must be subscribed to one of the keywords receiving the broadcast to receive a test message).
- Click on the “Send Test Message” Button. A confirmation pop-up will note how many subscribers will receive the Test Message. This message will take about 5 minutes to be delivered to the Test Message list.
- Once you are happy with the Broadcast that you have created, click on the “Finish” Button to schedule your Broadcast.
Editing a Reach Broadcast After it has Been Scheduled:
In Recurrency, you can edit or cancel a Reach Broadcast before it goes out through the Manage Broadcasts Page, all of which is covered in our Manage Broadcast Overview.
