What is the Incoming Text Message Report?
The Incoming Text Message Report allows our clients the ability to look at all messages that are being sent into the Campaigns that are available in their account. This can be used to look for trends, look for words that are being texted in regularly (often used to find if people are texting in the wrong keyword), and provides insight into how users are interacting with our Campaigns.
What do the Columns in the Incoming Text Message Report Tell me?
The Incoming Text Message Report functions as a view into what messages are being sent into the Campaigns within an account, allowing our clients to understand how Campaigns are being interacted with. To understand the information, it’s important to first understand the data being displayed in the report. Here’s a breakdown of the columns and what they mean:
- Phone Number: As you would expect, Phone Number displays the mobile phone number that the user used to send in the message displayed in that row.
- Time (PST): The time column displays the time that the user sent in the message.
- Short Code: The Short Code columns displays which Short Code the user sent the message in through.
- Message Text: Message Text displays the body of the message that the user sent in.
- Carrier: Carrier displays the provider that the user is a customer of (i.e. Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, etc.)
How To Run the Incoming Text Message Report:
- From your dashboard, click on the Reports option in the left side navigation bar. Once you have been taken to the Reports Page, click on the View button for the Incoming Text Message Report.
- After reaching the Incoming Text Message Report, you will notice that there are two new fields that have not been present in any of the other reports that we have covered so far. That being said, there are two key pieces of information to run the report: Campaigns and Date Range. To run the report, select which Campaigns you would like to see the Message information for from the Campaigns Table, and set the Date Range you would like to see. Once you have entered both of these, click on the “Search” Button to run the report.
- Unlike the other reports available, however, the Incoming Text Message Report allows the user to run the report based off of two additional pieces of information: Phone Number and Message Text. This means that the Incoming Text Message Report allows you to view additional information based off of a specified Phone Number/Text, allowing you to search for a specific phrase, or even view just a single phone number’s interaction with the Campaigns specified.
- In order to run the report with these added criteria, enter either a Phone Number, a Message Text, or both into the specified fields, and click the Search button to view your results.
How to Export the Incoming Text Message Report:
When initially loading the Incoming Text Message Report, you may notice that the Export Button is not present. That is because the report does not display the Export Button until the report has been run. Once you have run the report, however, the Export Button will be available and you will be able to receive a CSV export of the information that is being displayed by the Incoming Text Message Report, in the same format.
